Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu.
Day 02 City tour or free day to explore and shop on your own.
The tour includes the Kathmandu valley, Pashupatinath temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa. We offer an expert tour guide for this day excursion.
Day 03 Drive to Chamje.
We have a long drive to Chamje via Besisahar. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Day 04 Chamje to Dharapani.
We begin our trek along the bank of the Marshyangdi River, sometimes crossing steel bridges. We ascend and reach Tal, passing terraced farms. We then walk through the rhododendron forest to Dharapani.
Day 05 Dharapani to Chame.
We first walk through dense woods before the trail emerges in the open to beautiful mountain views. We pass some ethnic Gurung settlements, cross a bridge over the Marshyangdi River and finally reach Pisang village.
Day 06 Chame to Pisang.
The trail is fine but the hanging rocks above our head always challenge us. It is also wonderful to see. Sometimes, we go through the dense woods and pass some ethnic Gurung settlements. Then we reach the Pisang village, crossing the bridge over the Marshyangdi River. Overnight at lodge.
Day 07 Rest and Acclimatization Day.
We take a rest day in Pisang village to acclimatize and practice with our climbing gear. We can take a short side trip and enjoy stunning views of Mt. Annapurna, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak.
Day 08 Pisang to Pisang Base Camp.
Gradually, we climb up towards Pisang Peak Base Camp via Upper Pisang. We climb through light woods and pasture to Kharka. Once at base camp, we prepare our climbing equipment and practice. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 09 Pisang Peak base camp to High camp.
Our challenge begins from here as we climb to high camp. In winter, this part will be full of snow. After climbing 4-5 hours we set up camp. Then we can do a short climbing practice. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 10 Summit Pisang Peak (6,091m) and trek down to Base Camp.
The beginning section is not overly challenging but the upper section is quite steep and requires equipment to reach the summit. We must fix the rope and make a way, which will be done with the help of our professional climbing guide. The panorama of the Annapurnas can be enjoyed from the top. Then we climb down to base camp. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 11 Reserve day.
This is an important day to add to our schedule to compensate for bad weather that we might experience in the alpine zone. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 12 Pisang peak base camp to Manang .
After descending, we trek to the beautiful spiritual center of Manang village, which is heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. There, we can explore monasteries, Chhortens, caves, and a museum. People walking the Annapurna Circuit often spend an extra day in this Shangri-la. You have this option as well.
Day 13 Manang to Yak Kharka.
We walk the ancient trail of Manang, passing Ginseng and beautiful cattle grazing meadows. We then proceed to Yak Kharka, where you can see a significant population of yaks. Enjoy a Yak Burger at your teahouse!
Day 14 Yak Kharka to Thorong Pedi (4425m) or high camp.
Passing green meadows, we gradually ascend to a grassless region before reaching Thorong Phedi, our stop for the night. To get in shape for tomorrow’s tough day, we take a steep 45-minute walk from Phedi to High Camp and then return to our teahouse.
Day 15 Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m) via Thorong La (5,416m).
What a day! After an early breakfast, we begin our trek up the same steep trail we used yesterday for practice. The trail continues ascending but is less steep after High Camp. The open vistas are superb! After about 4 hours from Phedi, we reach the top of the Thorong La, the highest pass in the Himalayas. We have excellent views of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and other stunning peaks of the Annapurna region. After posing for pictures at the top, we begin our long, steep descent, which actually drops down far more than the morning’s ascent. To cap off this once-in-a-lifetime experience, we trek down to the Muktinath temple, which is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Nepal.
Day 16 Muktinath to Jomsom.
This morning, we visit the Muktinath temple before descending to the Jhong River valley. We then pass the ancient town of Kagbeni and its 15th-century monastery. The landscape, along with a riverbed surrounded by mountains, is spectacular, resembling Tibet. We eventually reach Jomsom through the windy valley.
Day 17 Fly to Pokhara (half-day sightseeing).
Early in the morning, we take a short scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. At Pokhara, you can enjoy a boat ride or walk around the lake. Pokhara is a trekker’s mecca, with excellent shopping and restaurants. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 18 Drive back to Kathmandu, farewell dinner.
From Pokhara, we take a bus driver for about 6 hours to Kathmandu. You also have the option to fly at an additional cost. Arriving in Kathmandu, you’re transferred to your hotel. To celebrate your successful adventure, we invite you to a farewell dinner.
