The Langtang Trekking region offers beautiful scenery and a great cultural experience, with fewer crowds than the Everest and Annapurna regions. Towering mountains, rhododendron forests, and the Langtang River define the natural landscape of the region, which borders on China.
The Langtang Trekking, native people share a Tibetan-influenced Tamang culture, with spiritual sites including monasteries, stupas, gompas, chhortens, mani walls and prayer flags. Nepal Hiking Trek offers numerous treks in the region, which includes the Ganesh Himal, Gosaikunda and Helambu areas. Our specific treks offered are the Langtang Valley, Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu, Tamang Heritage, Bhairaykunda and Helambu treks. The Langtang Trekking Valley walk starts in a river valley and works its way to Kyanjin Gompa, a spiritual center nestled in high mountains. Other highlights of the week-long trail include the Langtang Glacier and viewpoints of Tsergo Ri and Kyanjin Ri. The Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu trek goes deep into the Helambu region and to Gosaikunda Lake, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The trek also goes into the Sing Gompa with its views of Laurebinyak. The BhairavKunda trek offers views of mountain peaks and opportunities to meet various native ethnic people.
The Tamang Heritage Trek, which just opened recently, is a homestay Langtang trekking that gives trekkers a chance to stay with local people and learn about their lifestyles. The relatively short Helambu Trek features multiple landscapes, including high ridges and fertile valleys, as well as a view of Sherpa culture. The best times to trek in the Langtang trekking region are from September to December and March to May.
