It is the habitats of at least 118 species of birds including Himalayan monal, blood pheasant, yellow-billed chough. In this monasteries, the Mani Rimbu festival is celebrated which is the biggest festival of Sherpa people which falls in the tenth lunar months in the Tibet and in October and the November in Nepali calendar. Kalapathar is the attractive peak in the Everest region. It is called "Black Rock" in Nepali. It is a notable landmark located on the south ridge of Pumori in the Himalayan above Gorakshep. Although it is not a proper mountain it is very popular among visitors. It provides the close-up views of the world iconic mountain Mt Everest. Due to the structure of the Everest massif the summit of the Everest is blocked by the Nuptse from the surrounding region and also we can't view the summit of Mt Everest from its base camp but Kalapthar is one and only peak where we can view face-face views of the summit of Mt Everest in the clear weather and climate including Nuptse, Changtse.

Yeti (Abominable Snowman) is an ape-like creature taller than an average human that is said to inhabit the Himalayan. It is believed that the Greek photographer saw the human-like creature walking like a human by the foot. The scalp of yeti was found by the Edmund Hillary and now it is preserved in Khumjung monastery, this monastery is the small monasteries of the village Lies inside the Sagarmatha national park world heritage site. This scalp is claimed to be 300 years old yeti scalp. The people should pay Rs 100 to enter in it. The scalp is in half football like shaped preserved in the padlocked box. And you will be charged a certain amount to visit the scalp. It is believed that yeti has existed but no one sees the unique creature in his or her real life. Many tourists came to view the scalp of the yeti in this place from their country.
