Home of Sherpa and Land of Mount Everest the region is the most talked about and significant region of Nepal. For past century Everest region has become the symbol of national identity. The presence of the world’s tallest mountain and other numerous Himalayas make the region the most enthralling Himalayan paradise.
There are countless myth and stories associated with the Everest Region. The region is also referred to as the Khumbu region and therefore the Himalayas are also considered as the Khumbu range. I and my friends went to Everest Base Camp Trek. We are from Russia and near to the Mount Elbrus which is the tallest mountain of Europe. We found vast differences in terms of adventure and natural attraction while comparing these two gigantic peaks which are within the great seven summits of the world as well. While trekking in the Everest Base Camp our trekking guide Hari Chandra Dharel from Nepal Hiking Trek we found numerous legendary stuff about the Everest region. Recently released movie Everest showed the story of Scott Fischer and co. we actually saw the place of their memorial near Pheriche on the way to Everest Base Camp. There are numerous Sherpa villages like Tengboche, Dingboche, Khumjung, and Thame where we can study the lifestyle of world famous Sherpa tribes. We found that Sherpa is not a profession rather it is an ethnic group of the Khumbu region. Moreover, the adventurous mountain flight to Luka which is the most extreme airport in the world is also very fascinating. We were lucky to have experienced trekking guide like Mr. Dharel who demonstrated lots of skills on survival at the high altitudes. The story of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, as well as other brave summiteers of Everest as heard on the trail, is amazing.
Overall our trip to Everest Region was full of legendary stuff. The glorious Himalayan sunrise as seen from Kala Patthar near Everest Base Camp was awesome. The view of the Amadablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cholatse, Khumbu Glacier, etc as seen from World’s highest situated Hotel Everest View and Kala Patthar are the best memories of our trekking in Nepal. We highly recommend the trekkers to trek to this legendary place on earth.
